No Junk Food Challenge: Day Stupid 30!
Soooo, this is it. The end, The final countdown. Today is the last day of this challenge and I couldn't be happier. Although it was hard at times, and there were a couple instances of supposed 'cheating' (I never said burgers were in the list of junk foods, but I guess I have to add them under the terms and conditions), I still think that overall I did a pretty fantastic job with this challenge.
Last night, because I knew that I was in the home stretch, I told Dave that I thought it was time to eat those damn Reece Peanut Butter Cups that have been sitting in our fridge for the past MONTH. I mean, why not? I made it this far, there is only one more day! And he said, "NO! You will feel better about yourself that you saw it through to the very end". I guess he is right, although, I have no feelings towards it either way. Isn't that just like my generation? Build something up forever only to have lukewarm feelings about it once it has been accomplished.
Having said that though, I can honestly and happily say that nary a chip, nor a candy, or even a lick of ice cream has passed through these lips in 30 days. I am pretty proud of myself. Those were the original terms, and I accomplished that. I indeed have some willpower against the deliciously tempting foods that we are plied with daily.
The end of this challenge could not have come at a better time either. This weekend I am throwing a baby shower and there will be tons of goodies there. Also, it's THANKSGIVING!!! I can't wait for turkey and gravy and pie and cake and wine. It is going to be a gorge-fest of epic proportions.
P.S- what's not to love about Fall? It is a gorgeous time of year. This is what my walk to work looks like every morning. It makes my soul happy.
